Introducing, Hyperion!

Hyperion is a Coast Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) that currently stands at 116m tall, and is found in Redwood National Park in California. It stands among three other trees within 6m in height. Experts believe if not for woodpecker damage at the top it would have grown even taller.

It is believe to be between 700 and 800 years old, meaning it started growing while the Leaning Tower of Pisa was being built.

It is over twice the height of a Space Shuttle orbiter, and would be approximately the height of a 30-story building!
